Thomson Roddick & Medcalf is one of the top independent auction houses in northern England with over 125 years of trading experience.

Our modern and attractive salerooms are conveniently located in Carlisle, close to the historic city centre with its castle, cathedral and renowned museum and art gallery but readily accessible by road with ample parking available. For rail travellers, Carlisle is on the West Coast, London – Scotland, main line. The Lake District, Solway Coast and Hadrian`s Wall are all only an easy drive away.

We place great emphasis on our approachability and the honesty of our appraisal of collections or individual items which may be for sale. Pre-sale advice is always readily available and transport of goods for sale can be arranged, as appropriate. We are happy to advise on anything from a single item to a whole house contents and distance is not an object for the consignment of suitable pieces for sale.
